HB Studio offers playwriting classes at three levels. Whether you are an actor trying your hand at writing, or an experienced playwright looking to develop and share work for feedback, HB has a course for you. Level 1 Playwriting classes (Playwriting Technique, Screenwriting for the Short Film) are open to all without submission or prerequisite. Level 2 (Playwriting, Screenwriting for the Feature Film) requires a script submission, or placement from a prior level. Playwrights Forum and Playwriting Workshop with José Rivera are open to playwrights who have an established craft, but have no prerequisites.
HB provides a variety of opportunities for outstanding work from its playwriting classes to be presented in readings or workshop performances, and for directors and playwrights to work collaboratively on developing and presenting new material.
