Sara is an accomplished choreographer and director for theatre and film; having produced, directed, and/or choreographed scores of award-winning films, dance films, music videos, concert dance performances, musicals, and plays. She has had the pleasure of working on Jose Rivera’s A Lunar Rhapsody at various institutions as Co-Director (with Rivera), Choreographer, and playing the role of an Interdimensional Being named Charlie – including Brown University (MFA program), Duke University, Northwestern University, DePauw University, Santa Fe Playhouse, and The Actors Studio. She will be the Director and Choreographer of the upcoming Fordham production.
As an actor and dancer, Sara has also had a long and diverse career. She developed the play at CATF, Sundance, New York Theatre Workshop, Rattlestick, and Goodman (opposite 2-time Tony nominee Amy Morton). Other credits: The Hours Are Feminine, (World Premiere Off-Broadway written/directed by Rivera), Theatre For One (Signature Theatre); Paula Vogel’s Bard At The Gate (McCarter Theatre); Red Bull Theater; the lead in Rivera’s Lovesong (Imperfect); The Actors Studio with Chazz Palminteri; and HBO’s “The Undoing” with Nicole Kidman. At The Metropolitan Opera — where she performed as a classical dancer in multiple world premieres – she worked with directors Bart Sher, Mary Zimmerman, and Robert LePage. She worked with Steven Schwartz as the aerial soloist in Goodspeed’s tour of Pippin and danced at Lincoln Center in both Peter And The Wolf and Cinderella.
She has also been a lifelong arts educator of students from all over the world, including HB Studio, NYCDA, NYFA, Boston Conservatory, UNH, Tokyo University, and Phillips Exeter Academy.
