Hadi Tabbal

Hadi Tabbal is a NY-based theater, film, and TV actor and writer. Hadi just starred in the Pulitzer prize-winning play ENGLISH on Broadway which opened to rave reviews and was named the best play of the decade by Variety. Hadi himself won an Obie Award and was nominated for a Lucille Lortel for his work on ENGLISH at The Atlantic Theater. Hadi also starred in the NY Times Critic’s Pick production of THE VAGRANT Trilogy at The Public Theater. On television, Hadi starred as Amir Al-Raisani on NBC’s THE BRAVE. He was listed as one of the faces to watch out for by Emmy Magazine. His New York and regional theater credits include plays at major venues such as The Vineyard, The Folger Theater, and The Spoleto Festival, among others. His film credits include ROSA on HBO and CIRCUMSTANCE, which won the Sundance Audience Award. Hadi has had many guest appearances on major network and streaming shows on NBC, CBS, and Netflix, among others. As writer, Hadi’s plays have been developed at major theaters such as Berkeley Rep, The Atlantic Theater, The Public Theater, and The Lark. Hadi is the recipient of The Artists Advancing Cultural Change Commission from Noor Theater & Pop Culture Collab and has been a semi- finalist for his work at Playwrights Realm. Hadi has an MFA in Acting from The New School for Drama. He was Adjunct Assistant Professor at CUNY York College and periodically teaches acting both in the Middle East and in New York City.
