Negron, Rick

Rick Negron was born and raised in Puerto Rico. He made his professional debut at age ten in a production of the musical THE ME NOBODY KNOWS in San Juan. By the time he graduated high school he had performed in musicals and danced on television with some of Puerto Rico’s top celebrities. He’s a graduate of Sarah Lawrence College and briefly pursued a concert dance career before setting his sights on Broadway. He was seen on Broadway in LEADER OF THE PACK, THE MYSTERY OF EDWIN DROOD, LEGS DIAMOND, MAN OF LA MANCHA, THE GOODBYE GIRL, and IN THE HEIGHTS (Kevin Rosario). In Los Angeles the American premiere of RAGTIME, La Chiusa’s WILD PARTY (Black), John Patrick Shanley’s PRODIGAL SON (Carl Schmitt), and the Vegas production of MAMMA MIA! (Sam Carmichael). National Tours: WEST SIDE STORY (Action, Riff, Bernardo), MAN OF LA MANCHA with Robert Goulet, and the PCLO productions of IN THE HEIGHTS (Kevin Rosario) and MAMMA MIA! (Harry Bright). He danced in Michael Jackson’s BAD video, and CHICAGO the movie. Recently, Rick was on tour with HAMILTON playing King George III in the And Peggy Tour of HAMILTON. The And Peggy Tour opened in Puerto Rico, with Lin-Manuel Miranda returning to the role of Alexander Hamilton. Currently, Rick is playing the role of Compay Segundo in the Broadway cast of BUENA VISTA SOCIAL CLUB. He is a proud member of AEA & SAG/AFTRA. Instagram @1stpuertoricanking
