Lanford Wilson Scene Study

Presented by Austin Pendleton

Until we are able to resume classes at the Studio, this workshop will be held online via Zoom Conferencing:

Lanford Wilson Scene Study (Part A) with Austin Pendleton | March 30, 2020 – April 27, 2020 | Mondays, 6:00 pm – 9:30 pm

Lanford Wilson Scene Study (Part B) with Austin Pendleton | May 4, 2020 – June 8, 2020 | Mondays, 6:00 pm – 9:30 pm

Rehearsed scenes from the works of Lanford Wilson are critiqued and worked on in class. Scenes will be drawn from Wilson’s extensive body of work including, but not limited to, BURN THIS, THE FIFTH OF JULY, BALM IN GILEAD, TALLEY’S FOLLY, THE HOT L BALTIMORE, ANGELS FALL, LEMON SKY.

In preparation for this workshop, you are encouraged to read the playwright’s plays — any of your choosing — and are invited to bring in a monologue for the first day of class.

Note: As many scenes as time allows will be presented each week, but it is not expected that all participants will present every session. For a deeper dive into the work, the full 10 weeks (Part A & B) are recommended.
