*This class has been cancelled for the Winter and Spring 2019 Term, if you are interested in working with David Deblinger, we recommend you please join his Acting 1 or Acting 2 class in the Spring.
This training continues the process begun in Acting through Ensemble 1, this time offering you the chance to work on one monologue, one scene, and the opportunity to develop original work (e.g. personal storytelling, poetry, rap, character monologue, webisode, stand-up, etc.).
We will start with activities that build trust in order to create a safe and sacred space that encourages participants to take real risks in following impulse and instinct to create raw and compelling work. Exercises will be used to both explore making specific and instinctual acting choices within a written scene, as well as creating an original piece.
The culminating class will be a celebration and sharing of work. This work is steeped in a tradition that theater and storytelling has an important role in helping people connect with what matters to themselves and others, with as much joy and compassion as possible.
