Acting Out offers professional training and performance opportunities for formerly incarcerated men and women who experienced the transformative value of theatre while in prison. In AO workshops and productions, they continue to access forgotten traits, mine raw talent, and build self-esteem. Exposure to the rigors and rewards of a master arts environment empowers participants, helping with reintegration to society, and providing a safe space where they may express themselves openly and honestly.

This performance is made possible with funding from the India Blake Foundation.
HB Studio’s programs are supported in part by public funds from the National Endowment for the Arts, the New York State Council on the Arts with the support of the Office of the Governor and the New York State Legislature, the New York City Department of Cultural Affairs, in partnership with the City Council, and many generous supporters.
