Mancini- Acting for Teens: Ages 14-17 (Part A)- Spring Term 2021

Online Teaching Statement from Marlene Mancini: “We are used to being in the same room as we practice the ‘game of make-believe’ — you believe it…the audience believes it: the basis of our theatrical world. This does not change for us in this virtual world. We will continue to be ‘present,’ continue to develop our senses with that powerful ingredient, ‘imagination.’ We’ll do theater exercises, cold readings, monologues, improvisations, how to prepare for auditions, and continue to develop our own ideas of what’s real, what matters and how we reach out to others. It doesn’t matter if we’re not in the same room — what matters is for each of us to continue our own unique journey to ‘be’!  This work will help us in our theatrical world, our real world, and most importantly, our teenage world — and how to manage that world!!
