Alexander Technique – Studio Practice

For actors who are well grounded in the principles of the Alexander Technique, this course will continue the work on increasing sensory awareness, the use of inhibition and direction, and will include hands-on work. In addition to continuing your personal practice, you will focus on individual projects: work on the physical life of characters you’re playing, how to protect and free your body after demanding work, and on bringing the Alexander technique to the voice. You can bring in monologues, scene work and songs. You will also work on creating a short piece using movement and text while making use of the Alexander processes.
